Information you provide
Housey stores account identifiers, your profile name and photo, household membership, house information, cleaning sessions, chat messages, reactions, safety reports, and settings needed to operate the service.
House information and credentials
House information may include an address, shared-space names, house rules, and a Wi-Fi password. This information is visible to current members of the house. Do not add a credential or other information you do not want to share with every current member.
Messaging activity
Housey processes chat messages, reactions, delivery acknowledgments, read state, and short-lived presence and typing signals to provide household messaging. Push notification tokens are used to deliver notifications.
Diagnostics
Housey uses crash diagnostics and basic technical information needed to identify failures, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and secure the service. Housey does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
How information is used
- Authenticate accounts and synchronize household data.
- Operate cleaning schedules, chat, reactions, reports, and notifications.
- Investigate safety reports, enforce the Terms of Use, and prevent misuse.
- Diagnose failures and protect the security and reliability of Housey.
Who can see information
Current members of a house can see shared household information, cleaning activity, and house chat. Blocking another member hides that person’s chat activity from your view; it does not remove them from the house.
Service providers
Housey uses Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, data storage, realtime synchronization, server functions, and crash diagnostics, and Expo infrastructure for push delivery. These providers process information on Housey’s behalf to operate the service.
Retention
Chat messages use a rolling 30-day retention period and are removed by a daily deletion process after they pass that boundary. Presence and typing data are temporary. Account and household data are retained while needed to provide Housey. Safety reports and limited operational records may be retained when reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraud, security, or legal obligations.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from Settings. You can also request deletion without the app. Account deletion removes associated personal data except limited records retained for the reasons described above.
Security
Housey uses access controls, authenticated requests, platform security features, and encrypted network transport. No service can guarantee absolute security, so use a unique password and protect access to your device and email account.
Children
Housey is designed for people coordinating a shared household and is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate authorization.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, Housey will update the published version and provide notice where appropriate.
